Facilities

Library

A Brief Profile" gives an overall view of the library facilities available at Immanuel Arasar College Of Marine Engineering. With the long tradition of collective efforts of the staff members of the library, we have been striving hard to meet the present day demands of our users by rendering various services. We seek to do in a personalized and hospitable environment in spite of some infrastructural limitations.

The library at present provides services mostly through a manual system. However, keeping in mind the present day requirements, we have started the process of automating the services. An INTERNET facility is available to the users. We are progressing towards fuller automation, but not definitely without human touch.

Provides centralized purchasing and cataloging services for the community college libraries. This includes planning, development, and implementation of automated support systems; technical support of these systems; and training. Purchasing support includes negotiating discounts with vendors, processing orders for materials, and advising libraries in local purchasing procedures.

The Library serves as a gateway to information resources, creating an environment in which the members of the Immanuel Arasar College Of Marine Engineering community can access and use information in a constantly changing, technologically driven world.

The library embraces the College Mission by providing resources designed to support the curriculum, to promote intellectual curiosity and cultural appreciation, and to engage students, faculty and staff in the teaching/learning process
